Are you a driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships and closing deals? Corridor Media Group, publisher of the Corridor Business Journal, is seeking an experienced Media Sales Consultant to join our growing team.
In this role, you’ll connect businesses across the Corridor region with powerful advertising solutions — from digital newsletters and sponsored content to print and event sponsorships. You’ll work directly with business owners and C-suite executives to develop strategic marketing campaigns that deliver real results, while contributing to a collaborative, goal-driven sales team.

Overall purpose and objective of the position: Achieve monthly and annual revenue goals. Responsible for generating leads and creating new business. Duties will include sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well as negotiating contracts. Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, competency working with C-level executives and ability to sell across multiple product lines and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Achieve revenue goals through the presentation and sale of banner advertising for all e-newsletters and the web digital partner program, digital sponsored content, print ads and event sponsorships.
- Possess a thorough understanding of product features and benefits, rates and packages.
- Develop solid marketing presentations that detail the value of the recommended advertising campaign.
- Develop a routine for new business development by prospecting, pre-approach, approach, needs assessment, presentation, meeting objections, gaining commitment and follow-up.
- Monitor other media to identify opportunities to increase market share and attend local business events for networking opportunities.
- Work cohesively with other media consultants referring business leads when customer’s needs assessment identifies additional advertising opportunities.
- Work towards achieving budgeted revenue and profit goals for the Corridor Media Group, working as part of a team, all sharing the common goal of increased sales and managing expenses.
- Meet copy/layout deadlines, complete accurate advertising orders, submit client contracts and complete sales reporting in a timely manner.
- Attend one-on-one meetings with COO and other training/meetings offered by the company to obtain essential job information.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales roles, preferably in advertising media or other related industries.
- Deep rolodex of industry contacts and positive relationships with ad agencies/marketing executives at the client level.
- Problem solving and analytical abilities are important. Good communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are used in daily contacts with external customers and co-workers.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or liberal arts or equivalent related experience in marketing and/or sales.
