Pay Rate:
- $24.36/hr to start. $25.46/hr after successful completion of 90-day probationary period.
Start Date: February 3rd, 2025
Category/Shift:
- Hourly Full-Time
- DuPont Schedule: Rotating 12hr shifts- 14 days on and 14 days off per month.
- Includes 7 consecutive days off.
Physical Location: Cedar River Mill: 4600 C St SW Cedar Rapids, IA 52404
The Job You Will Perform:
- Support mill process operators in making paper as you train to become a Papermaker
- Support all mill housekeeping and grounds maintenance as required.
- Makes process rounds for preventative maintenance and process checks.
- Communicates through written shift logs, verbal shift relief, process checklists and the mill log.
- Assists other team members in the mill as necessary to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
- Maintains and develops team relationships.
- Develops cross-functional process skills.
- Supports other areas of the mill as needed in flowing to work.
- Must be able to wear all required safety equipment.
- Standing and walking: 80% of shift time.
- Lifting: Up to 50 pounds
- Carrying periodically tools and equipment.
- Push/Pull: Assist in pushing 7,000 pound rolls; assist in pulling 6,000-7,000 pound machine clothing.
- Climb: Stairs, ladders, into tanks.
- Other: Upper body mobility in order to drive roll grab/bale grab, skid loader.
- Some assignments require kneeling; crouching and twisting while installing machine clothing and threading machine
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Two years previous manufacturing or like experience and/or two years post-high school education or military service.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to carry out physical tasks of job functions.
- Ability to safely work with industrial chemicals.
- Proven record of safe work practices.
