Essential Functions:
Perform work involving general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of Linn County ordinances and other pertinent local, State and Federal laws.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Deputy Sheriff with Linn County you must meet the following requirements:
- Is a citizen of the United States and a resident of Iowa or intends to become a resident upon being employed
- Is 18 years of age at the time of appointment
- Has a valid driver's or chauffeur's license issued by the state of Iowa
- Is a high school graduate with a diploma, or possesses a GED equivalency certificate
Please note: The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has a lateral transfer program for certified law enforcement peace officers. This program includes a $10,000 structured incentive and a starting salary based on years of service as a certified peace officer.
