At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, we are focused on delivering quality patient care. Our Department of Health Information Services is currently seeking a full time Medical Records Clerk.

 

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Will monitor faxes and incoming documentation.
  • Responsible for scanning/downloading information into patients’ electronic health records.
  • Notifying providers when results are available.
  • Monitoring the electronic health record to ensure completeness of documentation.
  • Will respond to requests for patient records by providing the records to external agencies.
  • Provides phone coverage inclusive of answering incoming calls to medical records, routing calls to appropriate party, and communicating with patients or other appropriate parties.
  • May assist walk in patients with request for their medical records.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
  • Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

 

PCI is E.O.E.  Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.  PCI is a tobacco free workplace.
