GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the office coordinator performs clerical work at the administrative level such as composing routine correspondence, word processing documents, maintaining budgets and records, administering official HSED exams, and obtaining and providing factual information requiring knowledge of policies and procedures of the Iowa Medical and Classification Center, Kirkwood Community College, and the Iowa Department of Corrections. A degree of independent judgment and cooperation with other employees and programs is essential. The position also involves working with confidential information.
The usual work hours for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Limited Term Position – Continuation of this position is contingent upon future funding from the Iowa Department of Corrections

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain class schedules and student records through the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access,) ICON, CASAS TE, and other software programs.
- Answer telephones, provide information, route calls, and operate basic office equipment.
- Maintain and order classroom materials and supplies.
- Assist with the compiling of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Assist with new and current students, as well as workshops, conferences, and other activities.
- Administer official HSED testing sessions.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
