Director of Transportation
Solon Community School District
The Solon Community School District is seeking a dedicated and organized Director of Transportation to lead the district’s student transportation services. This position is responsible for managing daily transportation operations to ensure students have safe, reliable access to school and extracurricular programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to learn and navigate transportation software systems with ease.

- Fleet & Equipment Management
- Staff Supervision & Training
- Budget & Financial Oversight
- Communication & Coordination
- Emergency Preparedness & Problem-Solving
- Policy Development & Compliance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in transportation management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field, preferably in a school district setting.
- Knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations, including student transportation laws.
- Experience in fleet management, routing, and scheduling.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency with transportation software and Google suite
