The University of Iowa Design & Construction Department is seeking a Quality Project Manager. This position is responsible for the delivery of effective project management services with an emphasis on quality management. The projects have a high level of complexity and can be high profile and have a greater impact on the operations of the institution.

This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the and .

Duties to Include:

  • Facilitate review and approval process for UI Design Standards and Procedures.
  • Maintain FM Design & Construction workflow documents.
  • Review design documents for compliance with UI Design Standards and Procedures.
  • Review construction jobsites for compliance with current campus standards and industry best practices.
  • Support project and department lessons learned processes.

Location: University Services Building

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Professional experience (typically 3-5 years) in project management of projects during design and/or construction or experience in process improvement implementation.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer software applications.
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in a customer focused, team-oriented environment.
  • Professional experience (typically 3-5 years) in project management of projects during design and/or construction or experience in process improvement implementation on a university campus.
  • Extensive experience with project management software such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, BIM, etc.
  • Experience in sustainable design processes, laboratory and/or MEPT capital improvement projects and/or state building inspection procedures.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, ASTM and/or Joint Commission standards and Building Codes including NFPA 99.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Technology (MEPT) commissioning practices and Building Enclosure (BE) commissioning practices.
  • Experience with healthcare, laboratory, MEPT or building envelope capital improvement projects and/or state building inspection procedures.
