The University of Iowa, Accounts Payable Department is seeking a Vendor Team Supervisor to perform a broad range of documentation and financial analysis responsibilities to ensure effective and compliant operations associated with the management of the Vendor File Team and 1099 support on an as needed basis. This position will be required to continuously research, recommend and implement the latest trends in vendor onboard and fraud prevention. It will also be responsible for oversight of the Vendor File Team with a focus being on customer excellence, attention to detail, and maintaining both accurate and legitimate vendor records. This position will be required t o interact with internal and external customers to address vendor onboarding processes, change requests, fraud prevention and fraud analysis activities. The position will use detailed analysis skills to perform vendor record management functions, provide pay cycle support services, lead bank transaction reviews, manage virtual payment program as well as other various duties assigned for the effective operation of this essential university department. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.
This position is performed fully on campus.
Duties Include:
- Maintain and update vendor information in the company's system, including contact details, tax identification numbers, and payment methods.
- Monitor existing and create new reporting as needed for maintaining accurate and relevant vendor file records.
- Apply extensive knowledge to interpret and ensure compliance with University, State and Federal policies and regulations associated with vendor record management and 1099 processes including but not limited to assessing debarment status, visual compliance assessments, validity of TSB classifications, and conflict of interest policies.
- Provide system and policy training to Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Travel staff associated with Vendor Team processes and fraud prevention.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Salary: $45,540 to commensurate

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience (typically 3 years) in accounting/vendor management or audit.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Advanced skills in Excel)
- Experience (typically 6 months) administrative supervision.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including taxation.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP and GASB
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of University polices/procedures
- Knowledge of UI automated accounting systems.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials and E-Pro Systems.
- Beyond 3 years’ accounting experience
- Experience reviewing data and transactions for fraudulent activity.
- Experience with Microsoft Access.
